Looking to move. Curious about cost of living, transportation, safety, etc.

My significant other and I are currently researching potential places to move and comparing cost of living, lifestyle, and other factors—specifically in Nevada, Washington, and California (we’ve visited each of these states a few times).

For context, we currently live in Hawaii, which is known for its high cost of living, and that definitely holds true. We’re in a cozy studio (about 377 sq ft) with assigned parking, paying around $2,200 including utilities.

We don’t have kids or pets, and we do have a car we would need to ship. We’re both employed. I'm a dental hygienist, and he works in real estate while also building other business ventures (including a restaurant).

Ideally, we’d like to live somewhere relatively close to a city, in a safe area, with access to decent alternative transportation options if possible.

We’d really appreciate any suggestions, insights, or experiences you’re willing to share. Thanks so much! 😊
