All sorts of firsts…
I am getting my Mach-e from a non-ford dealer. Even before I had found the car I wanted, I start calling around to the larger Ford dealerships want to ask about pre-purchase inspection. I mainly wanted the battery SOH. It’s like impossible to get a service advisor or manager on the phone or to even return a call after leaving more than one message. I finally gave up. The 2023 car has less than 10K miles, looks brand new, and wasn’t put in service until April of 2024 as a lease; so I still have one full year of the bumper to bumper warranty, etc…. Also, at 91/% charge, during my test drive, it showed a 247 mile range. So this morning, one service manager I’d left messages for last week called me back! This particular Ford Dealership no longer does pre-purchase inspections on “independent” EVs; meaning any that didn’t come off their lot. Says they have been burnt too many times when something goes wrong and the owner comes back at them for not catching the problem. Have you guys ever run into such!?! Doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies about having it serviced there once I own it! And their are one of the favorite Ford franchises (?) in the area.
