GI clinic in TX

New Grad Offer Review

Hi everyone, any advice helps! I already have my own feelings about this but this is my only formal offer (I have a verbal offer from another place but I haven’t received any formal letter so reading through Reddit posts, I’m treating it as if I don’t)

3 year contract

salary: $120k

schedule: clinic 5 days (3 clinics total) 9a-6p or 8a-7p

schedule: hospital month on call/must be available every day

Training: 3-6 months of training with the surgeon (schedule can vary - starting later and ending later into the day)

PTO: 21 days vacation + sick days + major holidays + CME combined, must not take off in December

DEA license at the provider’s expense

Occurrence malpractice insurance at least 200k/600k, does not have tail, must buy (it says occurrence but I thought occurrence does not need tail?)

CME: $1000 annually

401k starts after 1 year

Performance review at the end of the year for compensation negotiation

Must live within 45 minutes of clinics

This clinic has trained new grads in the past, and they take pride in their training period. The con to this job is that I must be available every day and the benefits aren’t so good compared to the job that I have a verbal offer for. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you!
