Anyone into restoring irons?

I picked up a set of Hogan Apex edge irons today. always thought they were beautiful irons. the faces are near mint, but the back of the heads around the cavity and soles have some descent chatter. can anything be done to reduce or mask the chatter without taking away the shine?
