UC Transfer Degree Requirement

I’ve asked about this before but I want to make sure I’ll be fine. If i stated I will transfer with a degree but now have an issue with a course and end up not receiving the degree but still have all my requirements for transfer and IGETC done, will this affect my admission at all? How can I update this information? I know a degree isn’t required for transfer but when the UC application asked I had stated that Id receive an AA for transfer and now I will not unless I take the missing course in the summer. I plan on taking the course to receive the AA just for my own reasons. How would I go about this and is it a big deal if I don’t recieve the degree by the month I had stated ?
