Should I Self Study AP Spanish Lit Next Year?

Spanish Lit

I’m a sophomore right now and I am self studying for APHUG which I am predicted to do good on. I was talking to my Hispanic friends about my self studying journey(since I’m the only sophomore self studying in my school rn) and we were thinking of doing AP Spanish Lang together since for us natives speakers it should be a free AP.

I was digging a bit deeper and looking at Spanish Lit and the course seems pretty interesting and like something that will actually help me in the future and not look like “collecting APs”. I am fluent in Spanish and speak and text on the daily but I haven’t been in a Spanish class for about 6 years since I’ve been studying Japanese and don’t usually read books in Spanish because of that so I’ve only come across one book I read and found interesting.

What is the curriculum like? Is it something nice to self study? What are some of the books? Are they interesting and intellectually appealing or boring?
