Recommendations for someone who keeps bouncing off Scotch?

Every time I try to get into Scotch I hit a wall. Tried Glenfiddich 12, thought it was ok but to me, it was forgettable. Tried a friend's Laphroaig and nearly put it down the sink. Tried Glenlivet 12 and it was just kind of meh to me.

A coworker who knows his stuff suggested I try Glengoyne 10 and said something about it being unpeated and more fruit forward so it will be less like a campfire which might be why I'm not so into Scotch. I'm a bourbon drinker at heart, love stuff like Old Forester 1910 and Rare Breed, so I do like complexity and richness. Has anyone tried Glengoyne and can speak to whether it might actually click for someone like me?

I want ur opinions and 2 cents on what i should grab and try out given the fact that most scotch ive tasted is unbearable imho. I know im gonna be crucified by the scotch lovers for this post but i still have faith in scotch and i trust that you guys will have good recommendations given my current lack of fondness. Whatever u guys rec, ill see if i can grab and ill give u guys an update, though dont get your hopes up for me.
