Company rescinds merit increase for all employees with no notification.

Employment Law

Nationwide Company rescinds merit increase for all employees after approving increases in February during annual review process. No documentation was sent to staff, however managers have email confirmation of approved percentage increases. Employees were told this would take effect in March, however it is now April and no one has received their increase. Staff have had to email HR, in which we told that because we are behind on our revenue our merit increase will now be evaluated on a month-by-month basis and no back-pay will be provided. Is this legal? Is this a bad sign? There are rumors that delays are caused by ESOP valuation. Location: Florida
