Where to find good riding in Southern Ca or Az next winter

Hey Everyone, we're thinking of heading down to Az or Southern Ca next winter, just wondering if anyone has any recomendations for good places to ride and maybe where there might be reasonably priced Airbnbs. We're from BC and have ridden quite a bit on the west coast style trails and are loooking forward to doing some desert riding.
