Venture vs Venture X

Wanting to get into Capital One, but not sure whether to sign up for the Venture or Venture X. The Venture has a $250 bonus so it is kind of pulling me towards that. I travel 1-2 times a year with my girlfriend and don't really care for airport lounges since they removed the free guest entrance. Should I start with the Venture then apply for the Venture X sometime next year or will it affect my SUB? Or should I just go for the Venture X now?
