Pc launcher question

I’m a returning player and was excited to see the game finally has its own pc launcher now. But it lowkey feels like it’s farming crypto on my pc. I have a solid high mid range pc and it nearly overheats my cpu randomly. Twice now I’ve been playing a different game and noticed my cpu overheating so I’ll check task manager and see that epic seven is running in the background. I always close the launcher completely and never minimize to tray. Does the same happen with anyone else? It’s starting to feel like there’s no reason why I shouldn’t go back to bluestacks tbh
