Camping in May

Hi everyone. My friend and I are trying to do a Newfoundland and Labrador camping trip for 10 days between May 23-31.

I was looking at gros morne as we wanted to go to western brook pond but for some reason on the

Canada parks site it says that all access points will be closed during that time.

Can anyone confirm or deny or explain why this is the case?

We wanted to do backcountry but can always adjust if need be. What does camping look like around that time of year?
