I’m worried I’m dating a manipulative person

Tonight my girlfriend and I had a misunderstanding we each I thought she referred to “Mother Mary” as a nun but she meant like Jesus’s mom Mary.

I finally figured out the misunderstandings d explained it to her. We both understood.

She wanted to explain how she felt because she said some unkind things to me during the misunderstanding. While she was explaining how she felt, she was ALSO saying mean things to me.

Phrases like

“Your weird thing” referring to the horrible religion I was brought up in

“Oh yeah, name some poems you like” after she said I couldn’t appreciate poetry. She wanted to make me prove it

“You think poems should rhyme” as an insult to prove I can’t appreciate poetry

Suggesting Dr. Seuss was the poetry I was referring to

I kept responding “why are you being so mean? Stop being mean” She apologize and then continue saying how she was feeling while still being me. She was still talking down to me.

It was a horrible cycle where she was mean, I said stop, she said sorry and then repeat.

She just kept insulting me and talking down to me.

She stops saying sorry and says she is fed up with me and now won’t speak to me. She is acting like I was some kind of asshole.

I don’t know if she doesn’t realize she was hurting my feelings or what

Now I’m in bed sad and she is in another room mad at me and playing video games

Am I crazy? What just happened?
