Hello,

I’ve been thinking about this topic for a while and finally decided to dive deep into it: Is Google’s AI search actually killing websites?

What I’ve seen recently has genuinely surprised me.

Sites making $250,000 a month have suddenly lost a huge portion of their traffic. Major websites that used to get 50–60 million visitors per month have dropped to just 4–5 million in less than a year. Businesses that people built over many years are being shaken overnight.

So, is Google AI entirely to blame?

I don’t think so.

The real problem is that many sites have been trying to appeal to **everyone** for a long time. When you write for everyone, you end up writing for no one. Google’s AI Overviews and algorithm changes are simply exposing this weakness.

The sites that are surviving and thriving right now have two things in common:

1. **A real niche audience** These people bookmark the site, visit on their own, and don’t need Google to find it.
2. **Clear, direct, and useful content** They answer the reader’s question quickly and clearly, without forcing them to scroll through 2,000 words of filler.

Google itself says this openly in their guidelines: They reward content that genuinely helps users with clear, useful information, not content designed to manipulate rankings.

Here’s the ironic part:
Even though Google AI summarizes your content and reduces clicks, the people who still click through are usually higher quality. They’re the ones who actually want to read and go deeper. In the long run, this is a much more valuable audience than someone who bounces in 10 seconds.

I’ve experienced this myself on getneotiler.com. Some days impressions go up, but clicks drop. I felt the impact especially clearly on technical topics when AI summaries appeared.

I wrote a detailed article about what I’ve been doing, which strategies actually work, and what I’ve learned from my own experience.

If you want the full breakdown and all the details:

What do you think?
Has your site been affected by AI search lately? What strategies are you trying to fight back?

Feel free to share in the comments. I’d love to hear your thoughts and talk about it together.
