Storm of the Century

Has anyone seen this miniseries in HD? I know it's on Hulu but I just can't get into it with the giant black bars on the sides of it because it's in SD. I really think I'd enjoy it, is this stuck in SD for a reason because of rights issues? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
