Starting a SS program

So I have question for the people who know more about this than I. It's finally the end of the fall semester and I'm going to be doing an SS program starting next week accompanied with a bulk so I can add size and strength. (5'9 160 lbs. Max bench 195 lbs, Max squat 250 lbs, max dead lift 315 lbs.) I lack a bit on my bench press but want to hit 225 in 6 months. Anyway... so I know everyone says SS is great to boost everything and you should just stick to a basic program until you're strong, but what are your thoughts on adding accessory work in to increase my bench? Also when implementing SS should I change up the order that I do the exercises? Last time I did it I always did squat, bench, dead on A and Squat, OHP, power clean on B. I saw huge gains in squat and some in bench and dead but didn't see any in OHP and minimal in power clean. Should I do OHP or power clean first to help balance that out? Also, any other advice? Thanks in advance.

if you're going to do SS, do SS.
the programme is incredibly detailed and explicit in it's requirements.
the book goes into great depth about curls and crushers so there's no reason you can't add those and do general bb style for them to bring up any lagging parts.

Press is slowest lift to progress and you're going to have to eat a lot for progress.
5'9 160 means you have lot of room to grow so GL

Are those lifts your current lifts or lifts that you had previously done? Because if that's what you can put up now, you won't be on SS for too long.

It's about what I can do now. I haven't maxed since the summer, but when should I look at switching from SS? And why? If it works wouldn't I keep doing that program?

If you haven't maxed how do you have any idea what your 1rms are?

Based on what I do for 5 reps and the fact that I know what my maxes were last time I was doing those weights.

It sounds to me based on your numbers that you need something more than SS. The site has a calculator you will want to use which will help determine your lifting level. Just follow the prompts, it's a pretty easy to use site.
