Extreme tooth sensitivity, only at home?

question

A few weeks ago I drank something cold in the morning and one of my teeth reacted very painfully. (The tooth immediately left of my front teeth). I’ve never had any issues with this tooth before, no sensitivity at all. It seems like it just came out of nowhere. It became so sensitive that even drinking room temperature water would cause it to hurt, only slightly warm water was tolerable. This sensitivity persisted for a little over a week, then I left the country for vacation on April 11. While I was away (Portugal) the sensitivity completely went away. I had taken to using a straw to drink everything to keep cold drinks off of the tooth, but I was able to drink anything and everything in Portugal with no sensitivity at all. When I got back to the US after 8 days, the sensitivity came back and it’s still bothering me today. What could be the problem here? I’m stumped! The tooth looks completely normal front and back.

For more info, I am doing Invisalign currently, I brush and floss multiple times a day, I don’t smoke, and I drink very rarely (maybe once a month or so).
