why do most ai chatbots feel the same after a while?

idk if it’s just me but a lot of ai chatbots start off interesting then kinda fall apart after longer convos. tried a few including janitor ai and talkie. recently testing channel ai and it feels slightly better flow-wise, but curious if others noticed the same thing or if all of them just stays stagnant eventually.
