TCL 55P715 Backlight?

I have a strange one, my TCL will turn on for a few seconds and then the backlight will fail, which is typical of a backlight issue. The odd thing is though that if I manage to reset the device, the entire setup process will be completely fine and the backlight will only fail when it gets to the home screen, is this a hardware issue?

I've tried power cycling, software reset, looking for backlight settings, turning off quick boot.
