Weirdly placed dialogue - where am I at with progression?

please be mindful of spoilers, I like discovering the game at my own pace

I'm at my 40-ish run, beaten chronos a few times still working on typhon
I figured I'm a bit "behind schedule", even Hecate told me it's time to focus on the top side

But then last night I got from Hecate the dialogue for the first meeting of Chaos (what, you met chaos? wow!")
which like, dude, yeah it happened about 35 runs ago

This made me curious, is this dialogue just weirdly placed priority wise, or did I somehow force Hecato into a weird dialogue rabbit hole in every run thus far?
Does that make me actually way ahead of "schedule"?
