Very casual controller player since GT1. Had GT Sport a couple of months before my PS4 died and haven’t had a console since. Last year while staying at a friends we rinsed My First GT all weekend. Loved it. Next time I visited I picked up a copy of GT7 to take to his. A week later I bought my own PS5. It’s been like crack ever since.

After 6 weeks I got a used T300 and a cheap Amazon stand. It changed the game completely, there was a steep learning curve but the experience was so much better. Loved the wheel but was getting so frustrated with the pedals. Despite lots of mods and pedal tray changes I still hated them. Thrustmasters only upgrade option was used load cells so I decided to just go for it and went for the RS50 and RS pedals. Upped the experience a whole other level.

Added the stupidly overpriced momo wheel because that’s half the reason I went logi over fanatec dd. But now the cheapo wheel stand really can’t hack it. Like everyone else I’m sure, I had spent forever online speccing profile and pricing up rigs. But honestly the price was just a bit too much, especially when adding a seat that I’d be happy with. Then looking on eBay I saw a barely used track racer hybrid seat locally that I got for £75. Too good a bargain so now I did need a rig.

I eventually chose the track racer tr40s. It was that or the gt omega lite-r. But trak racer had stock. Both these were better value than I could buy black profile and cut/build myself. And I figure worse case I can add/replace profile as needed if the 4040 is flexy at all.

I also found a reconditioned 32” curved monitor cheap so that and the rig arrive today. Of course I just got notification the rig will not be delivered until 7-8pm so it’ll be a long day.

New rig day. A journey.
