why does modded feel ungodly boring?

Decided to give modded a try, and its genuinely painful to play. I'm using all 10 the mods, as I don't know what else to use. So far its just painfully, bad. I hate the world generation, the biomes look weird, the added stuff does literally nothing except clutter my inventory. Backpacks are nice, but thats the one thing I've liked. Is this common or am I just super weird.
