Is it weird to call a recruiter.

I recently had an interview with a company. I believe it went well and they said they will get back to me a week later. A week has passed and I haven’t heard back from them.

I have the recruiters phone number from when they messaged me, but I do not have the interviewer contact details. Is it weird to contact the recruiter to see if there is an update on my application.
