“You’ll hear from us by next week!” Biggest lie ever told

Anytime I’m given an ideal time frame after an interview I just automatically assume it’s all over at that point. It’s always “you should hear from us within the next week” or “by the end of the week” and then weeks pass with absolute silence. Not even a rejection email. I’m tired of it y’all
