Fan zones in New York/New Jersey - lack of information

Can it really be true, that there’s no fan zone to the opening game in New York/New Jersey?

I was very disappointed with the fan zone in Liberty State Park being cancelled.

Is there any locals who can give info on where to watch in Manhattan and/or NYC in general

The officials fan zones are not open for the first two/three days of the World Cup to my knowledge
