Earbud frustrations

New to GOS, just set up cell service and made it my primary phone a couple days ago.

Sorting through most issues but not finding a lot on this one. Have a set of Pixel Buds Pro 2 and the performance is very spotty, esp with phone which is where I need them most.

Most of the time when picking up or making a call I will get no audio and the occasional robotic, scratchy tone. This also happens if I try to pick up a phone call while listening to music. When I hang up the phone call and the music resumes the first 1-2s of the music is likewise distorted until it becomes clear again.
