The outlier season (for me)
I really love this series, because of the great story that season 1 and 3 tell, but season 2 feels like the lost season to me.
I fully understand why, with the death of Mike Hagerty they had to write around that a lot. But after finishing the series, I can’t help but feel like season 2 was wasted, in some ways.
The entire mom stroke / Wichita storyline was a complete waste of time, considering they drop the character and the plotline in season 3 completely and unceremoniously. Is mom still recovering from the stroke? Who knows? Never addressed again.
By the end of season 3 they ultimately made the show partially about Sam and Tricia becoming closer, and there is that slow build shown in season 2, along with the introduction of SLS, so I get that season 2 had purpose, but I feel like it was also in some ways a waste of time with arcs that went nowhere. In a series with only 21 episodes I felt that.
