I don't know what had happened

When I was about 10 , my vaginal area used to itch. So we went to see a doctor (male). I don't know how they examine this. But he told me to undress my bottoms and started checking something with torch. I forgot about this incident and randomly flashed in my memory now. I feel so annoyed. Is this how they examine ? Any gynaecologist here?
