Election Conduct Concerns Follow-Up
Hey all,
Following up on my post a few weeks ago, thanks so much y'all who reached out and provided their experiences and some context on the election system. It's a rabbit hole.
I kept an eye on the Election Planning website as someone reached out and recommended. It looks like afterwards a lot of complaints came in for "Spark UIC" that were similar to what everyone here discussed. That must've been the campaign I was witnessing too.
They were filed for most of the things in my last thread like getting aggressive in close contact with students, slander, and a load of other stuff.
It looks like the UIC committee did not sanction them for anything, but they did sanction the other team, "Advance UIC" for one of their supporters saying they would lower textbook costs or something.
This is all very confusing since there's no meeting transcript or full write-ups of the complaints. I saw some links of complaints earlier last week but they were removed and now it's just short summary documents. I'll link it all below. Luckily I still had the link for the removed one.
Is there anything an individual student can do here? Should I reach out to UIC or even the current student government? These folks are funded by our fees and the lack of accountability doesn't seem right.
My last post was banned for some reason so here's hoping mods leave this up!
