Running out of patience with appointments

Hi, I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. The psychologist had told me a psychiatrist would call me and set up treatment. This was 24 hrs ago. I called them and asked to leave a message with the psychiatrist and they told me the next available appointment wouldn’t be for another month.

A couple questions if anyone can help

Should I contact my PCP and see if she would set me up with treatment?

Or should I just call around to other psychs and see if I can get an appointment sooner?

Unfortunately I don’t have insurance, and this is a process I’ve been trying for months… I’m tired of waiting and racking up costs with appointments.

I remember she told me she can continue a treatment but can’t start me with one without a proper diagnosis.
