question about minoxidil

hello. im 18 and ive struggled with pattern female baldness for the last 4 years or so. i finally got to see the doctor yesterday and she perscribed me with minoxidil. i asked her if i could get it orally because i have 2 cats and its extremely toxic to cats, but she said no because she only had 2.5mg pills and it was too high of a dose so she prescribed me with the liquid solution. im extremely anxious and worried about starting. my cats are everything and i dont want to put them in danger.

my plan for using it is to use it in the bathroom with the door closed so they cant get it, wash my hands extremely well after applying, wipe down every surface in my bathroom afterwards, and wear a bonnet to bed for extra percaution. is there anything else i can do to lower risk for them? any advice is welcome.
