I thought I had figured it out.
Serious relationships didn’t work for me too heavy, too draining, too many nights feeling like I was somehow failing at something everyone else makes look easy. So I told myself maybe I’m just not built for that right now. Maybe I need to fix something in me first. Become “better,” more stable, more… worthy of being loved properly.
So I stopped. Took a break. Disappeared from dating, from men, from all of it.
And then I came back differently.
I told myself I’d keep it casual this time. No expectations, no attachment. Just something light. Something that wouldn’t hurt.
But it turns out… this doesn’t work either.
I talk to people. A lot of them. I try to be kind, present, interesting. They seem to like me. Some of them really do. I even met a few. And yeah, there’s attraction, there’s chemistry, there’s… something.
But it all feels empty in this quiet, uncomfortable way.
Like I’m there, but not really seen.
The other day I told someone I was going to an event alone because my friends bailed. I mentioned I felt a little off about it. Not even in a dramatic way, just… honest.
And no one checked in.
Not a call, not a “did you get there okay?”, not even a small moment of “hey, are you alright?”
And I don’t even know why that got to me so much. These aren’t people who owe me anything. This is literally what I signed up for casual, detached, no emotional responsibility.
So why did it feel like something cracked a little?
I think it’s because I realized I’m still hoping for something more… from people who are only here for less.
And that’s on me.
I keep trying to act like I’m okay with this version of connection where it’s physical, convenient, and temporary. And part of me is. I do enjoy it, in a way. I’m human.
But another part of me just feels… quietly lonely.
Like I’ve somehow managed to exist in two extremes too much for something casual, and not enough for something real.
And I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with that.
I want love. I think I do.
But I’m also scared of it. Tired of it. Not sure if I’m even ready for it.
And in the middle of all this, I just feel… lost.
Like I don’t understand what people want anymore. Or maybe I just don’t understand where I fit.
I don’t know. Maybe this is just one of those phases.
Or maybe this is what it feels like when you’re trying to find something real in places that were never meant to hold it.
Everything is freaking me out i feel like I’m living life wrong .
I am just not doing the right things
I feel so empty yet so full(heavy).
