Transferring from old Macbook Pro to MacBook Neo after Macbook Pro had screen break... very frustrated
I had an old Macbook Pro (I don't have the exact year but it was an intel-chipped one with a light bar) that finally gave out, with the monitor just getting completely fucked and unusable -- can't see anything on it beyond a few stray lines. I got a Neo and while I was able to move MOST of my stuff over thanks to iCloud, I want to try and move some more stuff over. The problem is... I can't seem to get it to work
I've tried hooking it into the monitor I use with my PC, but it doesn't work when opened as I can't log in to get to part where I can turn on mirroring with
In theory I might be able to "clamshell mode" it, but the problem is that it has only two USB ports and obviously I need to still have it plugged in to work, and I need to also have it plugged in to the other monitor... so I have no plug to put in a keyboard and mouse!
Which maybe leads to this "targeted drive" mode that apparently can happen. I don't know if that can work, since it apparently requires a thunderbolt cable and I thought Neos don't have thunderbolt support?
Please let me know if I'm screwing anything up here and/or you have any other tips that might help me...
