I built a tool that instantly breaks down any Shopify competitor’s pricing — here’s what I learned
I’ve been working on a Shopify competitor analysis tool called StoreScout because I realized most ecommerce research is still extremely manual.
So I tested it on a few major brands, including Fenty, and found some really interesting patterns.
A few things that stood out:
- Most of their products sit in the $25–$49 range
- Their newer product launches are significantly more premium than the rest of the catalog
- Only around 23% of products are discounted despite the brand doing massive revenue numbers
It made me realize a lot of big ecommerce brands aren’t just randomly pricing products — there’s usually a clear positioning strategy behind it.
Still improving the tool, but it’s been interesting seeing how different brands structure pricing, launches, and discounts.
Would genuinely love feedback from people in ecommerce or Shopify.
