I previously posted 11 days ago about my plants after I had some small children over, and they dropped the entire plant and water and covered it with a pillow. I finally found them a few hours later.

I am not normally a plant person, when I moved into my apartment, I was gifted them and really wanted it to live because I had never seen iridescent plants before I find them extremely beautiful. The gifter told me to just put it into a glass of water. HALP I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING.

After I posted here on reddit I was advised to put it into dirt, and further advised to use a transparent nursery pot.

Here is an update! I re-used a Starbucks cup that I made a bunch of holes in and 'well draining soil'. I've been bottom watering and then just a sprinkle of water on top. I got this huge iridescent planter to match her and hope she will eventually grow enough roots to be potted into this huge pot. Right now it looks so much stronger and is slowly growing new leaves. Some of the leaves are starting to look shimmery again!

Does she look good to you???

But I had another question, the pot I bought came in a set of 3, so I decided to put the spider plant into soil as well but I wont lie.. its not looking happy. Any tips? Its the same fresh 'well draining soil' that I used for the Tradescantia.

I tried not to pack them in. I left the dirt kind of loose. I water 1x per week by submerging the bottom inch of the pot into water for a few minutes, then sprinkling a bit of water gently to moisten the top a bit. I make sure not to put enough water to pack the soil down. I make sure they drain well and have plenty of holes. They sit in my sunniest window.

Iridescent Tradescantia is shining again✨️
