Just bought an HP Victus

I just bought an HP Victus i5 16GB 512GB SSD RTX 4050 off Walmart, it gets delivered tomorrow.

So now after stumbling upon this subreddit I'm wondering... Uh did I make a mistake? Either this is the best laptop ever or a complete waste of money. All the videos I've seen of it have been pretty positive and after researching it for days it basically does everything I want/need for the price. But looking at all the threads here it seems to be full of issues like overheating and breaking down. And now I'm just second guessing my choice.

I'm also hoping it'll last me a couple years as I had my last laptop for 9 so I really hope it won't just die in a year or two.

I guess what I wanna know is what is the truth from someone who's owned this laptop for a while? Are all the issues overblown or is it all real?

Also is there anything like accessories I should buy for this laptop? I'm incredibly tech illiterate but I know a big issue with this machine is that it overheats, do I need to buy a cooling pad or whatever?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
