AITAH for defending myself against my moderators

burner account, tried to post SS's but this subreddit doesn't do that so bear with me. I've bolded the mod in question who was particularly offended by me. The moderation isn't the point of debate, I'm curious to know if what I said to mod 1 makes me an asshole.

Me - I talked to banned player the very same day I knew he was being problematic. As soon as one of the mods told me I went after his ass. And as far as I’m aware he’s complied

Mod 1 - That's not equal treatment towards people. You lessoned the punishment for someone that's closer to you, gave him a 'talking to' and banned people today for harassment. It's also not equal punishment when banned player has multiple people coming forward about him and the others have what 1 person? that's where people have issue with you and your unequal treatment of people's actions. I've always been ok with 2nd chances but there are come instances that should never be tolerated period.

Me - No I treat everyone the same

Mod 2 -Scuff got a week and Jolt got 3 days

Me - I banned the two others because the situations were entirely different. You can’t compare two entirely different situations saying they’re exactly the same

Mod 2 - I'm not saying they're the same; it's an example of it being enforced differently

Mod 1 - harassment is harassment period

Mod 2 - Scuff's was a first time, a one time thing, and sure deserves a ban. Joltin has been banned a few times before and maliciously griefed 

Mod 1 - And to be honest this situation with 5 people coming to us vs like 1 person or maybe 2 at most. THAT is what is not even close to equal.

Me - If I’m correct player 1 is referring to was what you told me that one night when we were in a call about a week back when you brought up player 1 and player 2 and I said I didn’t like banned player anyways I don’t mind getting rid of him but I just want to talk with him first to see if I can get through to him. If you thought it was an issue that justified a ban why didn’t you tell me then? And the other two were banned for a completely different type of harassment

Mod 1 You literally said you didn't mind getting rid of him. That's what i thought you were going to do!

Mod 1 - You do realise I have these opinions due to the very lack of communication to your mod team about what you do and don't do. If I knew you hadn't punished Lumen Cove members would I have stated what I said? No. You need to also let us know of changes or things you do, but you haven't changed on thelack of communication to your team. And pls don't tell me that every change gets put inot the chnnel log because you should let us know when you change or decide something as soon as possible. We can't do our jobs properly or efficiently or be informed on things that happen when we aren't told.

Me - i think you just summed up the mod team as a whole there lmao. ME especially but we all suck at communicating. Perhaps its time we make it mandatory to write everything we do in this chat

Mod - 1 And this is why I've taken a more passive approach this season. you put me through hell and back multiple times. but I stayed on the server and as Mod for your community and my friends on here. I go through enough stress irl and don't deserve to be blalantly blamed for shit that you do. That was not fucking ok.

Me - Im not tryng to convince you but I'm trying to save myself because the way you just worded that makes me look like an asshole. this is the ticket from before if anyone wants to read it so I don't look like an asshole

Mod 1 - The way you worded it to me that night made me think you were going to ban him, not jsut talk to him. And asking why I didn't say enough. I wouldn't have brought it up in the first place if I didn't think it was an issue. have dealt with many situations that haven't been brought up becuase I dealt with them on the spot or someone jsut needed to talk to me about things. Those are not serious issues or I was able to deal with it. I brought it directly to YOU because I knew that this sort of situation as been dealt with poorly in the past and I plus being a women and having to deal with someone making me uncomfortable last season i fucking knw how they felt. Bringing it to me in the first place was hard enough for them. If someone brings any harassment forward it should be taken as a serious matter not something to be just just a fucking 'talking to'.

I wont be defending myself - I was honest feedback. These conversations were at least one reason that this moderator had left but were the only conversation we had in the week prior to them going MIA and eventually leaving the moderation team.

The moderation aspect ended up being fine. The player was banned prior to this conversation, these were more discussion based arguments about the issue
