Maybe I am too pollyanna, but they COULD HAVE TALKED. (Season 4 Ep. 8)

NSFWSpoilerSHOW SPOILERS

Look, I am the same age as Mark in season 3. Sure, I haven't been to war, and I don't have much of a trauma besides the intrusive thoughts of tripping over a knife and it dashing my guts, but I have some takes.

I knew Thragg was going to go to Earth to reproduce and make heaven out of hell for himself. That was settled.

However, I am not pleased with how Mark reacted to Thragg's offer.

I can hear the sirens in his head screaming "get him off this planet," repeatedly. But, he could have actually negotiated, I think?

"As long as you leave us unbothered," Thragg says something like that, and all I am thinking of is:

"Will you ever hurt the people on this planet?" The first question. I think Thragg might have been silent for a moment before he eventually says:

"Besides heartbreak and sorrow, we will only defend if attacked," or something more bothersome like "if they had risen against us, the billions would be in our hands," something.

The second statement would be "But you'll attack other planets."

I don't think Thragg thinks that far as of late. He seems rather immature in my opinion, not going to lie, and pushing away the war crimes he had committed.

Since it is something Thragg hasn't considered, I expect him to say something like "When time comes, it will be decided."

So, Mark could go: "What about the kids? The--you know what I am talking about."

"What about them?"

"You'll use them like weapons. What about the humans-"

"Humans are none of our concern."

"No- No- Never- My answer is--" then the scene goes along.

Maybe the show would write it better than I, but I expected just a little bit more reconciliation and fight.
