Almost 1/3 of patients at my facility are age 18-45. Is this normal?
I have a some interest in ED flow, so I was messing around with some Epic reports for my facility. Long story short, about 1/3 of the patients are age 18-45, actually slightly more than the >65 yo group. 60% of the 18-45 yo patients are ESI3, so presumably not sprained ankles or lacerations. I wanted to see if this prevalent, or an anomaly. It was just surprising to see such a large number of younger adults coming to the ED
