What is your opinion of Connor Estelle, and the fallout of his being thrust into the public eye?
Connor "pinesap," Estelle appeared on an episode of Jubiliee's "Surrounded," presented on YouTube. Specifically, "1 Progressive vs 20 Far-Right Conservatives (ft. Medhi Hasan)." (Linked to time-stamp). During the back-and-forth, Connor espoused some allegedly pro-authoritarian stances, such as advocating for the use of democracy to install people who would then dismantle democracy, and cites his faith and philosophies written by Nazi-political theorist Carl Schmitt as some of his primary inspirations. Several of his responses garnered laughter and applause from other conservative participants.
In the days following his appearance, Connor claimed he was fired for his political views, and launched a gofundme that collected over $30k dollars. Some sources indicate that he was terminated prior to Jubilee airing. Connor made a small publicity circuit to promote the gofundme and walkback, diminish, or defend the statements he made during his Jubilee appearance. He claims Jubilee used deceptive editing techniques to make him look bad.
Left-leaning outlets pointed to Connor as a justification for their "warnings and alarmism," regarding MAGA and Trumpism as threats to democracy. They show Connor as an example of a typical conservative voter who just so happens to say the quiet part out loud, noting an increase in the number and appearances of far-right, "Shock-Value Conservatives," Aside from his few conservative podcast appearances and donations earned, he's received little in the way of recognition or condemnation from more prominent conservative outlets.
