If you have an iPhone and 10 minutes, this pays better per minute than most options
I went through the usual rotation here. Surveys, cashback, microtasks. You know the drill. Eventually tried app testing and that's the one I've actually kept doing.
The setup: a site called TestFi connects developers with iPhone users who test their apps before launch. You get specific steps to follow "try creating an account, try adding a project, see if sharing works" then write up what was confusing or broke. $1. Screen-record yourself doing it with the built-in iPhone recorder, $2.50.
Hard 10-minute cap per test. I'm usually done in 7.
The thing that actually makes this different from UserTesting is no screeners. Browse what's available, apply, developer picks you or doesn't. That's it. No spending 15 minutes qualifying only to be told your demographic isn't useful today.
Fair warning though: they score your feedback with AI. Submit two sentences saying it all looked fine, your score drops and developers stop picking you. Actually write about what was unclear or what didn't work, you stay in rotation. Keeps the bad submissions down which I don't hate.
Campaigns aren't constant. Some weeks there's a few, some weeks I check and there's nothing. There's one active right now for an iOS app, which is the main reason I'm posting. Good time to get a first test in.
testfi.app. Sign up as tester. iPhone required.
