HackWithInfy DSE vs L1 selection confusion + interview experience

Hi everyone,

I recently completed my HackWithInfy interview (on 23 April) and wanted some clarity from people who have gone through this process.

In my campus:

• Around 371 students were shortlisted overall
• 84 students were shortlisted for DSE
• Around 25 for L3
• 6 for L2
• Rest (~271) for L1

My Interview Experience:

• Solved around 7 DSA questions (optimized approaches)
• Explained my logic clearly
• Attempted DBMS questions (was able to answer some)
• Communication was smooth

In my panel:

• Around 10 candidates were there
• The interviewer sometimes stopped me after hearing the approach
• Around 4 candidates (including me) were handled separately and leave earlier before others

My concerns:

• Since a large number of students are already in L1, and the DSE shortlist is also quite high (84), what usually happens in the final selection?
• Do they actually select students from the DSE pool?
• Is there a chance of being downgraded to L1 even after DSE interview?
• How much does interview performance impact final role?

I felt my interview went well, but I am trying to understand the realistic outcome.
