Troubleshooting

A clutch is a friction device, right? So can anyone here chime in on why on God’s Green Earth my clutch would “tighten” as it wears, to the point the bike won’t coast or even roll?

I know for a fact the cable isn’t slipping in the clutch arm but I’ve had to loosen the flower nut a few times just this spring. It’s been okay for the past couple weeks until I had to stop at a red light on the ride home from work today and had to hold the throttle slightly to keep it from stalling as I waited, and it suddenly got to the point it stalled anyway and I physically could not pedal it to get it started again. Thankfully I had a few tools in my backpack to fix it with on the side of the road.

This engine is probably just shy of a year old. I do slip the clutch a little bit when taking off, but I also pedal at the same time even though I’m probably not over 140lbs. Anyone have any insight before I go through the trouble of changing clutch pads and/or pull what’s left of my hair out?
