I think it is time for the new generation

First of all, this is my personal opinion and I want to encourage you to share yours. I value your view as much as I value mine and think your opinion is as right as is mine.

I have done some thinking about my view on F1. My dad introduced me to it when I was a young kid somewhere in the 90's we watched a lot of races together and when he passed I continued watching. I started to lose interest quite some years ago but being a person from the Netherlands and being able to see the son of Jos become a super star made me regain interest into it.

Last year I already made the decision that spending half of my free summer weekends (24) to this hobby was too much time for me personally and prevented me from pursuing other hobbies.

Also the improvement of reliability and overall driver quality took away some of the excitement. Now it is pretty much guaranteed people finish the race once they start it.

I Know seeing Michael win every race is for a lot of people not the definition of entertainment, for me it was the pushing beyond limits, the chance someone engine could blow up any moment, the thunderous engine roars and screaming or the silly hopes Jos and his Arrows would win at Monaco made it special for me.

Having said that, for me it is clear that with this new era a new generation of fans have to stand up and find their magic like I found mine in their own way. Is it time for me to pursue different hobbies in order to prevent me becoming an angry old man screaming at clouds. Because my magic will never come back but others will find theirs and we can't have both.

I am curious about what you all think about this. Do you agree it is time for a new generation of fans?
