Question about health certificates

Hello long time lurker, first time post! I recently adopted my 7 month old ragdoll kitten from a TICA certified breeder and got him last Friday after he was sent through pet transport. I wasn’t really able to check him out until Sunday night because he was so scared and found out he had fleas on him. I immediately contacted the breeder and let her know, to which she later said she spoke with the transport company and a driver confirmed that he later found two puppies in the same transport vehicle to have fleas. My health certificate from the breeder was said to guarantee that the kitten comes healthy and parasite free ( I think this is different from his genetic health guarantee). However, the last week I’ve had to treat my apartment and him all while being a graduate student, which has caused a lot of stress because he is my first pet. My family is wondering if I can get any financial assistance/compensation from the breeder/transport company? I did call the transport company and the gentleman I spoke to completely denied everything so I’m not sure where to go with this or if I should let it go? Any help is appreciated!
