Can I P/NP class while in tag?

Hey guys I have a quick question since my CC counselor didn’t really answer my question :( I want to do P for my last GE cultural anthropology class, as I doubt I’ll get an A in the class and don’t want it to affect my gpa (I’m looking at a B/C). Only issue is I’m under tag, I have been admitted into my major, already SRI’d and am really not looking to get rescinded. Counselor said UC’s prefer letter grade but my GPA is more important to me (I have a 3.5) I have not done P/NP for any other classes except a repeat course.
