Openfan engines

I feel like I am alone in hoping cfm rise engines will never be produced because they are absolutely hideous. Call me superficial but a huge part of why I love airplanes is because of how they look (and sound). I guess it's a bit like car enthousiasts who like gas guzzling engines above electric cars. What are your thoughts?
