How to turn social media followers into listeners

Hello, new here, and wanted to get ppl's current thoughts on social media conversions.

I've been doing my podcast for a year now, release once a week, and I've gained a few thousand followers on IG, but haven't seen it translate into heightened subscriber numbers. Any advice on how to do that? I thought having clips go viral, et cetera, would be the ticket but hasn't happened yet.

Thank you,

F
