Leaving my city in 2 months (might come back, might not) — what would you do with furniture?

I’m in a bit of a weird in-between situation and could really use some advice.

I’ll be leaving my current city in about 2 months. The thing is, I’m not sure if it’s permanent or not — there’s a decent chance I might come back after a couple of months, but also a real chance I won’t.

Now I’m stuck trying to figure out what to do with my furniture.

It’s not super expensive stuff, but it’s all in good condition and would cost a fair bit to replace. If I sell everything before I leave, I’ll probably have to let things go pretty cheap just to move them quickly. But if I end up coming back, I’d basically have to buy everything again from scratch.

If I keep it, then I’m looking at either paying for storage or moving it somewhere temporarily, which also adds up — especially if I don’t come back at all.

Right now it feels like there’s no “good” option, just different kinds of loss depending on what I choose.

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation:
what did you end up doing, and did you regret it?

Would really appreciate hearing how others approached this.
