Steven Oakland’s Biology and Anatomy Part 1 (Human)

Discussion :)
  1. Skin: His tough skin is reinforced by a dense layer of embedded osteoderms, which are bony, plate-like structures similar to those found in crocodilians, but far more advanced in composition. These osteoderms are formed from mineral-dense materials such as basalt, diabase, and granite, giving them exceptional resistance to impact, compression, and heat. On average, this layer reaches up to approximately 1.5 inches in thickness, though it varies across the body. Areas requiring greater flexibility, such as joints and the neck, contain thinner or more segmented osteoderms to preserve mobility without compromising overall durability.
  • Attachment: The osteoderms are not external armor, but fully integrated within the dermal layer of the skin. A flexible, leathery epidermis covers them, allowing for natural movement and preventing the body from becoming rigid. Beneath the osteoderms lies a supportive matrix of connective tissue and hydrostatic muscle, which helps distribute force evenly across the body. When Steven experiences impact, the force is absorbed and diffused through this layered structure, reducing localized damage and protecting deeper tissues.
  • Nerve Distribution and Sensation: Despite their density, the osteoderms are not inert. Fine nerve fibers run between and around these structures, maintaining sensory input across the body. However, compared to normal human skin, nerve density is reduced in heavily armored regions. This results in dulled surface sensitivity while still allowing Steven to detect pressure, vibration, and significant damage. In more flexible regions where osteoderms are thinner, nerve concentration is higher, preserving finer tactile feedback for precise movement.
  • Acheron Sensing: Acheron Energy pathways run alongside the nerves within and beneath the osteoderm layer, enhancing both durability and responsiveness. When the body detects impact, these pathways can rapidly reinforce surrounding tissue, reducing structural strain. Sensory information is also supplemented by Acheron-based detection, allowing Steven to “read” force distribution rather than relying solely on touch. This means that even with reduced surface sensitivity, he maintains a clear awareness of how his body is being affected by external forces.
  1. Muscular System: Steven’s muscles are not composed of standard animal muscle fibers. Instead, they are formed from tree-like, dendritic fibers, which are branching, interwoven strands that resemble plant vascular structures. These fibers are densely packed and reinforced with high concentrations of silica and trace metals, including iron, nickel, titanium, zinc, copper, and boron. This composition gives his musculature a composite-like quality, combining flexibility with extreme tensile strength. He has large valved arteries like those of bats as well as connective tissues and muscles of sufficient strength to prevent his blood vessels from bursting (all made from reinforced plant matter). Despite their plant-like structure, Steven’s muscle fibers retain full contractile ability.
  • Connective Tissue: His tendons, ligaments, and supportive connective tissues are composed of the same plant-derived, mineral-reinforced material as his muscles. This creates a unified system in which all structural components share similar durability and elasticity. These tissues Anchor muscles securely to bone, distribute mechanical stress across joints, and prevent tearing during rapid or high-force movement. Because of their composition, they are highly resistant to stretching beyond safe limits, reducing the risk of injury even under extreme tearing.
  • Dendrites: The dendritic arrangement allows for multi-directional contraction, meaning individual muscle groups can generate force more evenly and with greater control. This reduces strain on any single point and enables sustained high-output movement without rapid fatigue. The presence of metallic elements enhances the conductivity of Acheron Energy, allowing muscle contractions to be reinforced beyond normal biological limits. As a result, Steven’s strength is not only a product of physical structure but also of energy-assisted amplification.
  • Energy Absorption: Embedded within his muscle fibers is a specialized chlorophyll-like compound adapted for Nephilim physiology. Unlike plant chlorophyll, which primarily absorbs light, this system is capable of absorbing a wide range of energy forms, including thermal, kinetic, and radiant energy. When exposed to external energy sources, his muscles can absorb incoming energy, convert it into usable biological or Acheron-based power, and prevent cellular damage from overload.
  1. Blood: Steven’s “blood system” is not purely circulatory in the traditional sense. Instead, it is a hybrid thermodynamic and structural support system centered around a substance known as Osteothermopolium (OTP). Rather than flowing freely like normal blood, OTP is primarily produced and stored within the bones, where it functions as a coolant, reinforcement medium, and stress-response material. While Steven still maintains a conventional circulatory system for nutrient and energy transport, OTP acts as a secondary internal fluid that activates under stress. Its role is not to carry oxygen, but to manage heat, reinforce bone integrity, and convert mechanical stress into structural strength. This makes his “blood” less about sustaining life in the traditional sense and more about maintaining durability under extreme conditions.
  • Osteothermopolium: The cancellous bones are supported by a substance found universally in Kaiju: Osteothermopolium. OTP is a black, viscous, non-Newtonian fluid with a tar-like appearance. It contains a dense carbon-based matrix reinforced with nanotube structures, allowing it to behave both as a liquid and a solid depending on pressure. At rest, it flows slowly like a thick liquid. Under sudden force, it stiffens instantly, behaving like a solid. This dual behavior allows OTP to adapt to stress in real time, filling gaps when relaxed and reinforcing structure when compressed.
    • Thermal Regulation: One of OTP’s primary functions is temperature control. Due to the extreme heat generated by Steven’s body, OTP acts as a coolant that absorbs excess heat and redistributes it safely, preventing internal thermal damage. However, under pressure, OTP does the opposite by generating heat. When compressed inside microfractures in bone, it produces intense localized heat, creating extreme conditions on a microscopic scale.
    • Microfracture Reinforcement: When Steven’s bones experience stress, microscopic fractures naturally form. This liquid seeps into the naturally occurring microfractures, and when the fractures are stressed again, the air bubbles inside them are pressurized and collapse, releasing immense amounts of heat on a microscopic scale. The pressure and heat within the fracture momentarily emulate the conditions beneath the Earth’s tectonic plates, where diamonds naturally form. Under those conditions, a certain percentage of the OTP’s carbon matrix crystallizes, forming microscopic diamonds inside the fracture. Because the reaction is so small, the intense heat is dissipated almost immediately when the pressure is removed, cooling the newly formed diamonds and preventing them from deteriorating into graphite during their formation. After they are cooled, the diamonds can withstand nearly any stress placed on them, and the OTP that remains uncrystallized springs back to its original foamy shape, ready to be compressed again. This process repeats until the diamonds fill the fracture, forming an ultra-strong scar inside it and dramatically increasing bone strength by reinforcing it. As it gradually flows, OTP can fill any cracks of any shape or size. If it is subjected to sudden pressure, however, its pneumatized structure becomes momentarily stiff and resistant to compression, like a solid. Inside the scars, although not as strong as diamond by a long shot, OTP’s non-Newtonian properties could cushion the bone’s high-stress points, and prevent them from collapsing as he grows.
  1. Skeletal System: Steven’s bulky skeletal system is a bio-metallic, energy-conductive framework that serves not only as structural support, but also as a secondary control and survival system. It is designed to withstand extreme forces, sustain internal energy flow, and continue functioning even when other biological systems fail. His bulky skeleton is durable enough to keep him from being disintegrated while allowing his body to regenerate.
  • Cortical Bone: The outer layers of cortical bone is composed of a combination of an alloy carbide material made from three layers consisting of radioactive metals (strontium, uranium, and plutonium), normal metals (titanium, boron, and silicon), and rare metals/minerals (not found on the periodic table), making it dense and nearly unbreakable while providing him with enough energy to continue running.
  • Cancellous Bone: Similar to an elephant, the inner structure of the long bones has cancellous bone (in place of medullary cavities; made from radioactive heavy metals (strontium, plutonium, and uranium)), which strengthens the bones while allowing haematopoiesis of Osteothermopolium. Additional muscle fibers ran through the inside of the cancellous bones, allowing him to pull together broken bones (if they could be broken) and move like a reanimated skeleton when his flesh and organs are incinerated.
  • Acheronite: The one metal that is present throughout his body is Acheronite, a material with the same properties (high tensile strength, high melting point, and hardness) as uranium, but with a higher MPa required to sustain a Kaiju’s weight, even those exceeding the weight limit. Its main property is to act as a conductor for Acheron Energy, storing it within the metal without overloading. It can additionally generate Acheron Energy, allowing it to have its own energy reserves. Unlike other metals, Acheronite is adaptive, allowing it to absorb any form of energy to regrow and reinforce itself when damaged, converting it into Acheron Energy.
  • Skeletal Autonomy: The skeleton isn’t just a support structure for Steven’s body, but an integral part of his sentience. Even in cases where his neurons and nerves are destroyed, the conductive metallic lacework provides a natural set of hardware for his skeletal system to operate without his brain.
  • Origin and Insertion Points: The origin and insertion points are reinforced to support his robust muscular system. The surfaces of Steven’s bones where muscles attach are expanded into densely textured, interlocking anchor zones rather than smooth attachment points. These regions are composed of the same multi-layered, alloy carbide composite as his cortical bone, but are further specialized with increased surface area for load distribution, microscopic ridges and grooves for mechanical interlocking, and an embedded Acheronite lattice for energy conduction/reinforcement.
  • Joints: The joints are interlocked and reinforced with metallic cartilage and ligaments, similar to a strong form of nitinol, to prevent dismemberment. His spine is heavily reinforced yet flexible enough to let him stand and run on two legs without falling.
  1. Nervous System: Steven’s nervous system wouldn’t be human in nature. It would be similar to a system of an organized supercomputer created for processing information quicker than a human could perceive.
  • Brain: Steven’s brain consists of three layers: the human, Slayer, and Titan.
    • Human Core (Center): At the center of Steven’s brain is the Human Core, a dense and highly organized region that closely resembles a normal human brain in both structure and function. It is concentrated around the limbic system and inner cortical areas, making it responsible for identity, emotional processing, and long-term memory. This is where Steven’s sense of self is anchored: his relationships, his empathy, and his ability to make moral decisions all originate here. Under normal conditions, the Human Core is the dominant layer, maintaining control over speech, behavior, and conscious thought. Even as the rest of his brain adapts and evolves, this core ensures he remains grounded, preventing his more extreme biological systems from overriding his humanity.
    • Slayer Cortex: Surrounding the Human Core is the Slayer Cortex, a reinforced and highly specialized extension of the cerebral cortex designed for combat efficiency. This layer is thicker and more folded than a typical human cortex, allowing for increased processing speed and pattern recognition. It is responsible for threat detection, rapid decision-making, and the storage and execution of combat-based muscle memory. When Steven enters a high-stress or dangerous situation, the Slayer Cortex becomes more active, streamlining his reactions and reducing hesitation. It can temporarily override emotional interference from the Human Core, allowing him to act with precision and decisiveness. Rather than replacing conscious thought, it refines it, turning instinct into calculated action.
    • Titan Neural Mass: Encasing the inner layers is the Titan Neural Mass, a large, network of neural tissue infused with Acheron Energy. Unlike the compact structure of the Human Core, this layer is more diffuse and extends beyond the traditional boundaries of the brain, linking directly to the spinal cord and the distributed neuron clusters throughout Steven’s body. Its primary role is large-scale coordination, regulating energy flow, controlling enhanced physical output, and managing regeneration and adaptive responses. Under normal conditions, its activity remains low, operating in the background to support basic functions. However, during extreme exertion or transformation, it becomes the dominant processing layer, allowing Steven to control immense strength and complex full-body actions without losing coordination. In these states, it functions less like a brain region and more like a system-wide command network.
  • Nerves: Like Steven’s brain, his nervous system is composed of three layers that allow him to process information faster.
    • Peripheral Nerves: Steven’s body retains a fully developed peripheral nervous system similar to a human’s, consisting of sensory and motor nerves branching outward from the spinal cord into the limbs, organs, and skin. These nerves are responsible for transmitting standard electrical signals that control movement, touch, temperature, and initial pain detection. Structurally, they are slightly thicker and more reinforced than human nerves, allowing them to withstand higher levels of stress and repeated strain without degradation. This system ensures that Steven can perform precise, coordinated actions such as speaking, tool use, and fine motor tasks. It also maintains a consistent connection between his brain and body, preserving stability and control even when his other systems are active.
    • Acheron-Infused Nerve Fibers: Interwoven with his natural nerves are specialized fibers capable of conducting Acheron Energy alongside standard electrical impulses. These fibers do not replace normal nerve function but enhance it by allowing signals to travel faster and with greater intensity. Instead of relying solely on electrochemical transmission, Steven’s nerves can carry energy pulses that reinforce muscle activation and accelerate response times. This dual-conduction system allows his body to initiate movement with minimal delay, particularly in high-stress situations. The presence of Acheron Energy also makes these nerves more resilient, as they can continue functioning even when partially damaged, maintaining signal flow under conditions that would normally disrupt a human nervous system.
    • Distributed Nerve Clusters: In addition to standard nerves, Steven possesses clusters of neurons distributed throughout his body, particularly within muscle groups and joint structures. These clusters function as localized processing centers, capable of handling simple reflexive actions independently of the brain. While they do not replace central control, they reduce the need for every signal to travel back and forth between the brain and limbs. This allows for faster, more efficient responses, as certain movements can be initiated and adjusted at the site of action. The clusters are connected to both the peripheral nerves and Acheron pathways, creating a layered communication system where local and central inputs are constantly integrated.
  1. Cardiovascular System: Steven’s cardiovascular system is a multi-fluid, energy-integrated circulation network designed to distribute not only blood, but also Acheron Energy and thermoregulatory compounds throughout his body. While it retains the recognizable framework of a heart and vascular system, its function is far more complex, supporting his dense physiology, extreme durability, and adaptive biology.
  • Heart: Steven’s heart is a multi-chambered, high-output organ designed to circulate both Acheron Energy and support the movement of Osteothermopolium (OTP) throughout his body. Unlike a human heart, which has four chambers, Steven’s heart contains thirteen chambers, allowing for precise regulation of pressure, flow rate, and distribution across multiple internal systems. This structure ensures that his large, dense body receives consistent circulation while preventing pressure overload, especially when operating under extreme physical stress or heat.
    • 13 Chambers: The thirteen chambers are organized into functional groups, each responsible for a different aspect of circulation.
      • Primary Intake Chambers: They receive deoxygenated blood from the body and begin pressure regulation before distribution.
      • Oxygenation Chambers: They direct blood toward the lungs when oxygen is available and can reduce activity when oxygen is unnecessary.
      • High-Pressure Output Chambers: They pump blood through the body with extreme force, supplying large muscle groups and reinforced tissues.
      • Thermoregulatory Chambers: They assist in distributing heat and maintaining internal temperature balance. They also work in coordination with the OTP activity.
      • Auxiliary Redistribution Chambers: They redirect flow dynamically based on demand and maintain circulation even if part of the system is compromised.
    • Pressure Management: Because of his dense tissues, reinforced muscles, and large vascular system, Steven requires exceptionally high pressure to move fluid effectively. His heart solves this by staggering contractions across chambers, creating controlled pressure waves instead of a single pulse, and preventing vessel damage through regulated output. This ensures that even under intense activity, his blood vessels remain intact while still receiving enough force to sustain movement.
    • OTP Pumping: While OTP is primarily produced and stored in the bones, the cardiovascular system plays a supporting role. It maintains overall thermal balance, assists in distributing heat generated by OTP activity, and prevents localized overheating. The heart’s thermoregulatory chambers help synchronize internal heat with circulation, ensuring stability during high pressure or energy output.
  • Vascular System: Steven’s circulatory system is scaled to match his muscular demands. His arteries are unusually large, comparable in size and capacity to those found in large terrestrial animals such as elephants. These vessels are responsible for transporting oxygen, nutrients, and energy-rich compounds throughout his body at high volume. To support this, the arterial walls are reinforced with plant-based connective tissues similar in composition to his muscle fibers. These tissues are both flexible and extremely strong, preventing rupture under high pressure. The surrounding musculature also provides structural support, stabilizing the blood vessels during intense movement or impact.
  1. Digestive System: Steven’s digestive system is a highly specialized biological network designed for conversion, assimilation, and storage rather than simple nutrition. While it retains the general structure of a human digestive system, its function is fundamentally different. Instead of breaking down food solely for energy, it processes all forms of matter, organic or inorganic, and repurposes them into usable biological resources. Harmful substances are not discarded but converted into fuel, while excess material is stored externally in a dedicated reserve. This makes the system a closed-loop mechanism where nothing is wasted, and every input contributes to his continued function, adaptation, or recovery.
  • Stomach: Steven’s stomach is enlarged and lined with a unique portal-like membrane that separates its internal environment from a connected pocket dimension. Initial digestion still occurs within the stomach, breaking down incoming material into manageable forms. However, any excess or non-immediately useful matter is redirected through this portal lining into the pocket dimension, where it is stored as part of his Armaeternal body mass. This external reserve acts as a stock of biological material that can be used to sustain his current form or reconstruct his body if it is destroyed. The stomach therefore functions not only as a digestive organ, but also as a gateway that determines how matter is allocated between immediate use and long-term storage.
  • Kidneys: The kidneys filter Steven’s blood to remove liquid toxins and excess fluids, but their function extends beyond basic waste removal. Filtered toxins are processed and repurposed into fuel for biological weapon systems, turning potentially harmful materials into a resource. Excess fluids are not expelled in liquid form; instead, they are converted into superheated steam and released through specialized vents in his back. This allows for continuous pressure regulation while maintaining the system’s principle of total resource utilization.
  • Liver: His liver works the same as his kidneys, repurposed to digest harmful substances and work in conjunction with his kidneys to filter digested harmful substances for new biological weapons.
  • Pancreas: The pancreas serves as both a digestive support organ and an energy regulator. It produces compounds that break down foreign or complex materials at a deeper level, allowing them to be assimilated into Steven’s biology. At the same time, it regulates how this assimilated matter is converted into usable energy, preventing overload or imbalance. This dual role makes the pancreas a key control point, ensuring that the system operates efficiently while adapting to varying types of intake.
  • Intestines: Steven’s intestines are repurposed into a system focused on distribution and conversion rather than waste elimination. The small intestine transports assimilated materials, such as organic compounds, minerals, and energy-rich elements throughout the body, integrating them into his existing biological structures. The large intestine focuses on processing toxic or residual substances that have been filtered by the liver, kidneys, and pancreas. These materials are converted into fuel for biological weapon systems rather than being discarded. Together, the intestines ensure that all processed matter is either utilized immediately or transformed into a form that supports his overall functionality.
  1. Gravitational Swim Bladders: Steven possesses a series of gravitational swim bladders embedded along his spine. These organs function as a buoyancy and inertia control system, allowing him to move efficiently through liquids of any density and even operate in microgravity or vacuum environments. Unlike traditional swim bladders found in aquatic life, these are adapted to manipulate mass distribution and gravitational interaction, rather than just gas volume.
  • Placement: The swim bladders are arranged as segmented, elongated sacs running parallel to the spinal column. Each bladder is reinforced with flexible, pressure-resistant tissue and lined with Acheron-conductive membranes. Additionally, they are connected to both the nervous system and skeletal framework. This placement allows them to influence full-body balance and orientation without interfering with movement or spinal flexibility.
  • Function in Liquids: In fluid environments, the bladders regulate buoyancy and movement efficiency. By adjusting internal density, Steven can rise, sink, or maintain a stable position within the liquid. This allows him to hover in place without effort or move with controlled acceleration. The system also reduces drag by optimizing how his body interacts with the surrounding medium, enabling smoother and faster motion. Even in dense or high-pressure liquids, the bladders maintain stability, preventing loss of control during rapid movement.
  • Function in Low Gravity and Space: In low-gravity or zero-gravity environments, the bladders act as an internal stabilization system. Instead of buoyancy, they manage inertia and rotational balance, preventing uncontrolled spinning and allowing precise orientation. By redistributing internal mass and working in tandem with Acheron Energy, the system enables controlled drifting and directional adjustments. This allows Steven to navigate space deliberately, maintaining stability and control without relying on external forces or anchors.
  • Acheron Energy Integration: Acheron Energy is essential to the function of the swim bladders. It allows rapid adjustments in internal pressure and density, supports structural integrity under extreme conditions, and enables the system to operate beyond normal biological limits. This integration is what allows the bladders to function effectively in environments where traditional buoyancy systems would fail, such as vacuum or highly pressurized fluids.
  • Coordination and Control: Control of the swim bladders is shared between Steven’s central nervous system and his distributed neural network. He can consciously adjust his position and movement when needed, but the system also operates automatically to maintain balance and stability. This dual control ensures that his body can react instantly to changes in environment or motion, preventing disorientation and maintaining smooth, controlled movement.
